WALL STREET

Stocks finished mixed Friday, leaving all the major indexes with their first weekly loss since early May. Tech, financial and retail stocks gained, while utilities and energy stocks were lower.

Trading was also jumpy because of the occurrence of a quarterly "quadruple witching," which marks the simultaneous expiration of four different kinds options and futures contracts.

About three stocks rose for every two that fell on the New York Stock Exchange, where consolidated volume came to a heavy 5.47 billion shares, compared with 4.58 billion shares the day before.

All the major indexes closed the week down for the first time since the week of May 11. The Dow lost 3 percent, the S&P 500 index fell 2.6 percent, and the Nasdaq shed 1.7 percent.

Oil prices fell Friday, pulled lower by a sell-off in the gasoline market as dealers bet there would ample fuel supply in the United States to meet demand from summer vacationers.

Copper fell in New York, marking its first weekly drop since mid-May, on speculation that China, the largest user of the metal, will import less after stockpiles monitored in Shanghai rose to the highest since March 2008.

Gold rose in New York as the US dollar weakened, boosting demand for precious metals as alternative investments.

Stocks closed mostly higher but down from their highs of the day Thursday following three straight days of losses. Investors piled back into financial and health care companies and moved out of industries like technology that had been leading the market.

The overall number of people drawing unemployment benefits fell last week for the first time since early January. The drop broke a string of 21 straight increases. Separately, the Philadelphia Reserve Bank said manufacturing activity picked up in the mid-Atlantic region.

Advancing shares outnumbered decliners by about 3-to-2 on the New York Stock Exchange, where consolidated volume came to a very light 4.58 billion shares compared with 5.62 billion Wednesday.

Oil rose Thursday as data raised hopes of an economic turnaround and disruptions from OPEC member Nigeria stirred supply concerns.

Copper prices gained after the index of U.S. leading economic indicators rose in May, adding to evidence that the global recession may be near a bottom.

Gold futures ended lower Thursday as the U.S. dollar turned higher in a volatile session.

ARC EXPLORATION

Arc Exploration Limited ("ARX") is pleased to announce the extension of the Company's Strategic Alliance ("Alliance") with PT Minorco Services Indonesia ("Minorco") of the Anglo American Group ("Anglo") in Papua and West Papua to May 2011.

The focus of the Alliance with Anglo is to explore for large copper-gold porphyry deposits in the Provinces of Papua and West Papua in Indonesia.

Key elements of the Alliance are summarised as follows:

• Anglo will sole fund exploration expenditure through to the first decision to mine and has an initial 80% interest in projects while ARX retains a 20% interest;

• ARX is carried (not free carried) through to a Decision to Mine at which time ARX becomes liable to repay 10% of exploration and predevelopment costs out of its share of project proceeds (non-recourse to ARX);

• If following completion of a Feasibility Study, Anglo makes a Decision to Mine then a Joint Venture shall be formed and each of Anglo and ARX shall participate (and fund capital expenditure) according to their 80/20 project interests. ARX dilutes if it does not contribute;

• In the event that a resource of less than one million tonnes of contained copper equivalent or 1 million ounces of gold is identified, then Anglo may not offer any interest in the resource to a third party without first making an offer to ARX either that such project revert to ARX on an 80/20 basis (with ARX holding 80%) or that 100% be transferred to ARX with Anglo retaining a 2% NSR;

Together with Anglo, ARX believes that the Provinces of Papua and West Papua are highly prospective for large copper gold porphyry deposits. The Alliance has the potential to add very significant value to ARX and it looks forward to continuing to work with Anglo in this regard.

The Aisasjur Project in West Papua comprises 3 granted KP tenements and 2 KP applications which are currently the key asset of the Alliance. The granted Aisasjur Project tenements cover a total area of 60,896 hectares located within the Birds Head area of West Papua which is geologically very similar to the Central Papuan belt which hosts the world class Grasberg and Ertsberg deposits.

Anglo propose to undertake an aeromagnetic survey of the entire project area during the course of 2009 with the objective of defining further drill targets.

TENDER FOR NORTHERN SECTION OF NAGAMBIE BYPASS

Nagambie Mining Limited (ASX: NAG) is pleased to announce that the "Expression of Interest" that the Company lodged during the March 2009 quarter to provide 2 million cubic metres of fill material and 500 ML of non-potable water for the construction of the Nagambie Bypass has been included in the tender documents recently released by VicRoads for the construction of the Northern Section of the Bypass.

In the tender documents, VicRoads included the following:

"Nagambie Mine has supplied detailed information regarding the volume and quality of both the fill and non-potable water. The Nagambie Mine is likely capable of supplying both sufficient volumes of fill and non-potable water available to meet the construction needs for the entire project."

Nagambie Mining understands that tender documents for the Southern Section of the Nagambie Bypass could be released within a month.

The Nagambie Mine, 100% owned by Nagambie Mining, is located 4 km to the east of the Bypass route and the Company has over 4 million cubic metres of suitable fill material and 3.6 GL (3,600 ML) of non-potable water at the mine.

Stocks extended their pullback Tuesday after news of a seventh straight monthly drop in industrial production overshadowed better-than-expected reports on home construction, building permits and inflation.

All the major stock indexes fell more than 1 percent, and the Dow Jones industrial average lost 107 points, bringing its two-day drop to nearly 300 points, or 3.3 percent.

About two stocks fell for every one that rose on the New York Stock Exchange, where volume came to 1.2 billion shares, up from 810.9 million a day earlier.

The Commerce Department said home construction jumped in May by the largest amount in three months after hitting a record low in April. Applications for building permits, which are seen as a good indicator of future activity, rose by 4 percent.

The Labor Department said wholesale prices rose less than expected in May as a big jump in the price of gasoline offset a drop in food costs. But the Federal Reserve said industrial production fell a larger-than-expected 1.1 percent in May as the recession hurt demand for manufactured goods including cars, machinery and household appliances.

Oil eased Tuesday afternoon, giving back early gains as the US dollar strengthened and worries about the ailing world economy persisted.

Gold futures ended up on Tuesday but off session highs, as a late sell-off in crude oil took a toll on strong dollar-hedge buying based on a sharply lower U.S. currency.
