Wall Street finished an erratic week narrowly mixed Friday after a government report of a steep decline in new home sales stirred concerns that weakness in housing will continue to dog the economy. New-home sales tumbled 9 percent in November from October, their lowest level in more than 12 years.
Over the last 12 months, new-home sales nationwide have tumbled by 34.4 percent, the biggest annual slide since early 1991.
Advancing issues narrowly outnumbered decliners on the New York Stock Exchange. Consolidated volume came to just 2.31 billion shares, up slightly from 2.27 billion shares Thursday.
Bond prices rose sharply as investors looked for the assurances of U.S.-backed investments.
For the week, the Dow lost 0.63 percent, the S&P 500 slid 0.65 percent and the Nasdaq fell 0.55 percent.
Crude oil fell from a one-month high in New York amid forecasts that temperatures will be above normal in January, reducing demand for heating oil.
Copper fell for the second straight day on speculation demand will dwindle in the U.S. as the housing slump deepens.
Gold conrinued to climb, heading for the biggest annual gain since 1979, as a decline in the US dollar boosted the appeal of the precious metal as an alternative investment. Silver also rose.

WEEKLY DRILLING REPORT
The Directors of Amadeus Energy Limited wish to announce the weekly drilling report as follows:
Paul Hermes #1
Type: Gas wildcat
Location: Lavaca County, Texas
Status: The well has progressed to a depth of 10,325 feet as at December 27, 2007 (Texas time).
Target Depth: Midcox objective at 11,300 feet.
Working Interest: 40.75%
Operator: Trio Consulting and Management LLC - Wichita Falls, Texas.
Spartan Schwing #2
Type: Gas wildcat
Location: Bayou Choctaw, Iberville Parish, Louisiana
Status: The well has progressed to a depth of 10,527 feet as at 27 December 2007 (Louisiana time).
Objective: The Upthrown Nodosaria prospect lies at depths of 13,500 - 14,500 feet.
Working Interest: 52%
Operator: Spartan Operating Company Inc.
Marsh Investments #1
Type: Gas development
Location: Avondale Project, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana
Status: The well is due to commence in the next three weeks.
Target Depth: This is a re-entry into an existing well to a depth of 13,800 feet (12,600 TVD) to test the Robulus L Sand.
The first prospect involves the re-entry of the Oryx #1 Marsh Investments in the western fault block. The well encountered three sands with hydrocarbon accumulations. As their deeper primary objectives were not productive, Oryx elected to P & A the well in November 1990. In July 1994, an attempt was made by Charleston Oil & Gas to re-enter the well and produce the Rob "L". The resulting completion showed the primary cement job was inadequate to insure zone isolation from the wet sands below. The well flowed gas, water and sand. The operator did not conduct remedial cement work. The plan for this re-entry is to effect a completion of the Rob "L".
Working Interest: 20.3125%
Operator: Ops Group Limited

KUPE DEVELOPMENT WELLS - KUPE SOUTH 6, 7 & 8 DISCLOSURE NOTICE
New Zealand Oil & Gas Ltd (NZOG) reports that the development drilling programme for the Kupe Project is making good progress.
Drilling began at 22:40 hours on 19 December 2007. The 22" top hole sections of all three development wells - Kupe South 6 (KS-6), Kupe South 7 (KS-7) and Kupe South 8 (KS-8) - have been completed to the following depths:
Kupe South 6 560m MDRT
Kupe South 7 566m MDRT
Kupe South 8 568m MDRT
At 14:00 hours today, the 17" hole section of the Kupe South 6 well (KS-6) had reached a bit depth of 975m MDRT (measured depth from rotary table). The 17" hole section of KS-6 will be drilled to approximately 2000m MDRT where the hole will be cased and cemented, prior to drilling the 17" hole sections of the KS-7 and KS-8 wells.
Each of the three production wells will be drilled by the ENSCO 107 jack-up drilling rig to a vertical depth of approximately 3400 metres.
The Kupe Project drilling campaign is being undertaken on a "batch-drilling" basis. This process involves completing the same section of each of the three wells before proceeding to the subsequent section and is a more efficient approach than drilling the wells separately. Drilling of the three wells is expected to take around five months to complete. - Web Site

Wall Street fell Thursday after the assassination of Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto and after the Commerce Department's durable goods orders exacerbated concerns about the U.S. economy. The major indexes each lost well over 1 percent and the Dow Jones industrial average fell 192 points.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers by more than 3 to 1 on the New York Stock Exchange. Consolidated volume was light at 2.27 billion shares, slightly up from the1.94 billion shares Wednesday.
Light, sweet crude rose 65 cents to settle at $96.62 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchang following Bhutto's death. Prices also lifted after the Energy Department said oil inventories fell by 3.3 million barrels last week, more than double what was expected.
Copper fell, ending the longest rally in four months, as some consumers delayed purchases during the year-end holiday season. Copper gained almost 10% percent in the previous five sessions.

Wall Street advanced sharply Monday, boosted by news that Merrill Lynch & Co. will receive an investment of up to $6.2 billion from two investment groups. The Dow Jones industrial average rose nearly 100 points. Trading volume was light in an abbreviated session -- a typical occurrence a day ahead of Christmas.
Advancing issues led decliners by a 3-to-1 basis on the New York Stock Exchange, where consolidated volume came to a light 1.21 billion.

Significant assay results have been received from diamond drill (DD) holes KDD150 and KDD129.
KDD150 9699E/ 9976N, Dip -60 deg, Azimuth 339 deg - Total Depth 121.1m
Diamond hole KDD150 was drilled on section 9,700E on the westernmost section of the current resource boundary. This hole was drilled as a diamond core tail to KRC055 to test a zone of mineralization projected 200m west from cross section 9,900E. This zone was confirmed with the intersection of multiple horizons of lead-zinc sulphides in three thin horizons and one thick horizon.
The style of mineralization is typical for Kihabe with a thick, low-grade lens of sandstone containing higher grade upper and lower margins. The discovery of this main zone of mineralisation on this section is significant as its presence was not known at the time of the last resource calculation.
Assay results are as follows;

Geological Interpretation
These results are the first to be reported from the current Kihabe Infill drilling programme that commenced mid August 2007. Infill drilling with diamond core will provide a more accurate measurement of the true grade of the Kihabe Resource, which may be up to 60% greater than indicated from RC drill samples.
The presence of additional multiple, high grade zones of mineralization on section 9700E, beyond the western extent of the resource boundary, validates the Company's belief that Kihabe is open to the west and repetitions of known mineralization may exist. The presence of a new zone of mineralization shows the potential for exploration to grow the Kihabe Resource from its current JORC Compliant resource of 11 million tonnes at 2.55% zinc equivalent........

Leichhardt Production Expansion
Engineer Appointed
Matrix Metals Ltd (Matrix) is pleased to advise that it has appointed Como Engineers Pty Ltd ('Como' - a subsidiary of the VDM Group Ltd) as the design engineer for the Leichhardt Stage One Expansion which will increase current copper cathode production from 5,500 tpa to 9,000 tpa.
The Leichhardt Stage One Expansion, to 9,000 tpa of copper cathode, requires relatively modest changes to allow for the full debottlenecking of the operation; the Solvent Extraction ('SX') section of the plant, requires only a simple change to the configuration of the filtration area of the plant with the addition of a SpinTek filter and modifications to existing dual media filters, currently in operation. The existing Electrowinning ('EW') rectiformer will be debottlenecked and the addition of extra tankhouse cells, anodes and cathodes which are already owned by Matrix, will allow the processing facility to handle the planned increase in copper production.
Matrix will also widen and upgrade sections of the haul road, enabling it to efficiently cater for the increased annual tonnages of ore. To plate the extra copper cathode in the circuit the power station capacity will also be upgraded. To that end, three one megawatt Detroit power generators will be installed. Only minimal other site works are required to be undertaken..... - Web Site
