WALL STREET

Wall Street rose moderately Friday, carving out its fourth straight weekly gain amid a fresh round of corporate takeover news and employment figures that largely met expectations.
Reports that Microsoft Corp. renewed talks to acquire or invest in Yahoo Inc. helped buoy investor sentiment Friday as did word that Reuters Group PLC received a preliminary takeover offer.

The Labor Department said Friday the nation's jobless rate rose to 4.5 percent in April as expected; in the prior month, the rate stood at a five-year low of 4.4 percent.

Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by about 3 to 2, on lower volume, on the New York Stock Exchange.

The Dow is up 1.10 percent for the week after crossing 13,200 for the first time Wednesday. It gained 7.7 percent in the previous 25 sessions. The S&P 500 is up 0.77 percent for the week, while the Nasdaq rose 0.58 percent.

Overseas, stock markets in much of Asia, including Japan and Hong Kong, were closed for holidays. Britain's FTSE 100 finished up 1.01 percent, Germany's DAX index advanced 0.54 percent, and France's CAC-40 rose 1.08 percent.

Crude oil fell, closing with the biggest weekly decline in four months, on signs that U.S. supplies are adequate to meet demand from refiners making gasoline for the summer driving season.

Copper in New York rose to the highest price in 11 months and had the biggest weekly gain in a month on signs of U.S. economic growth and concerns that a miner strike in Peru will curtail supplies.

Nickel advanced to a record in London on speculation measures taken by the state government of Western Australia to detect pollution will disrupt shipments. A 20,500 metric-ton shipment of nickel concentrate from LionOre Mining International Ltd. and Jubilee Mines NL, scheduled to leave Australia's Esperance Port tomorrow, will be monitored. Western Australia's Department of Environment and Conservation said today it will stop the ship loading should odor or dust be detected.

Lead also rose to its highest ever.

Gold and silver rose for a second straight day in New York on speculation interest rates in the U.S. will remain steady, weakening the US dollar and boosting the appeal of precious metals as an alternative investment.

Macmin Silver Ltd has been granted an ‘Environmental Authority' (Level 1 non-code compliant mining project) by the Environmental Protection Agency for the Twin Hills Silver Mine at Texas in S.E. Queensland. The Environmental Authority takes effect from 23rd April 2007 with the anniversary date being 1 January each year. This Environmental Authority is granted under the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and includes conditions to minimise environmental harm caused, or likely to be caused, by authorised mining activities.

Macmin looks forward to working with the EPA to ensure all relevant environmental safeguards are fully implemented during the life of the operation at the Twin Hills Silver Mine and subsequent rehabilitation of the mining lease area.

WALL STREET

Wall Street extended its advance Thursday amid a burst of enthusiasm about the economy that gave the Standard & Poor's 500 index its first close above 1,500 since September 2000.
The S&P 500, the index most closely watched by market professionals, made its first foray past 1,500 shortly after trading began and rose as high as 1,503.34 just over a week after the Dow Jones industrial average passed 13,000 for the first time. The index closed at 1,502.39, up 6.47, or 0.43 percent, and is now within striking distance of its closing high of 1,527.46, set March 24, 2000, just as the dot-com bubble began to burst and Wall Street began a three-year-long decline.

Stocks have soared in recent weeks as first-quarter earnings beat reduced expectations, and upbeat economic news added to the gains.

On Thursday, the good news was about inflation: The Labor Department said wages, as measured by unit labor costs, rose at a tepid 0.6 percent rate in the first quarter. The news fed Wall Street's hopes for an interest rate cut later this year.

Advancing issues outnumbered decliners 3 to 2, on lower volume, on the New York Stock Exchange.

Crude oil fell on speculation that U.S. inventories are sufficient to meet demand from refineries that are increasing gasoline output.

Copper futures rose for a fifth session in New York on signs of strengthening U.S. demand for the metal used in wires and pipes.

Gold in New York climbed from a one- month low on speculation the price drop was overdone given the dollar's weakness this year against the euro. Silver also rose.

WALL STREET

Stocks jumped Wednesday, sending the Dow Jones industrials past 13,200 for the first time after a strong reading on U.S. factory orders stoked investor optimism about the economy. The Dow gained more than 75 points and secured its second straight record close.

The Commerce Department said orders to U.S. factories rose 3.1 percent in March -- the largest increase in a year -- amid strong demand for commercial aircraft and a sharp rise in an indicator of how much companies are investing in their business. The increase easily outpaced the 2 percent rise analysts had been expecting.

Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by more than 3 to 1, on slightly lower volume, on the New York Stock Exchange.

Light, sweet crude fell 77 cents to $63.66 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after weekly government figures showed slightly larger-than-expected domestic supplies.

Copper futures rose for a fourth straight session in New York after orders placed with U.S. factories increased more than forecast, signaling strengthening demand for the metal used in wires and pipes.

Gold in New York fell to the lowest in a month as the dollar rebounded against the euro.

NEW GUINEA GOLD

NEW GUINEA GOLD ANNOUNCES START OF PROCESSING AT SINIVIT

New Guinea Gold Corporation ("NGG" or the "Company") announces that mining and processing of gold mineralization from the Sinivit Mine has commenced. Project development has been completed at site and initial process plant commissioning commenced in April 2007 with first gold pour expected in May 2007. Vat 1A is full and processing is underway - mineralisation remains in vat for several weeks until gold is dissolved and the gold is then precipitated onto activated carbon, further processed by electrowinning and gold dore is finally recovered after smelting in a furnace. Vat 1B is expected to be filled in May 2007 from stockpiled, crushed mineralisation

Production is expected to gradually increase over the next six months to a monthly gold rate of approximately 3,000 ozs (35,000 ozs on an annual basis; see Press Release dated 31 January 2006).

Bob McNeil CEO/Chairman has just returned from a five day visit to site. During this period the Papua New Guinea Chief Mining Engineer, Mr Howard Lole and the Corporate Relations Manager for the Bank of South Pacific Mr Ron McDonald also visited the site. Mt McNeil stated "Mining has commenced from the Northern oxide pit. The crushing circuit is operating above expectations and crushed ore is presently being stockpiled to allow Vats 1B and Vat 1 to be filled as soon as they are completed. Stripping of waste is well advanced in several parts of the southern oxide pit and mining of gold mineralisation in this pit will commence in the near future. Vat construction will continue now throughout the life of the mine, with Vat 1B being filled and processed in late May, followed by Vat 1 in June or July. Initial mineralisation to the vats is expected to grade approximately 3g/t to 4g/t gold with the higher grades announced recently (Press Release dated 5^th April 2007) being accessed in the third and fourth quarters of 2007. Lower grades are used in the initial vats and processing to ensure all aspects of the processing circuit are operating satisfactorily.

Infrastructure, office and accommodation is now complete with approximately 90 persons resident on site. The contractor’s mining equipment and maintenance facility is operating satisfactorily.

In summary Mr McNeil said: "I am pleased with the progress at site, and to be able to report that the project is moving ahead as expected. We have a dedicated and supportive work force at site and I take this opportunity to thank them for their support during the construction phase."

Strong operating performance from an increased number of mines and a strong commodities market saw Oxiana achieve record earnings and cash flows in 2006, said Oxiana’s Chairman, Barry Cusack, speaking at the Company's Annual General Meeting in Melbourne today.

WALL STREET

Investors resumed their buying spree on Wall Street Tuesday, driving stocks higher after a bid for media company Dow Jones & Co. by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp revived enthusiasm about takeover activity.
The Dow Jones industrial average reached another record close, its 38th since last October, as big company stocks benefited from the turnaround.

Earlier in the session, stocks wavered on mixed economic data that showed strength in manufacturing but a wilting housing market and weak car sales.

Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by 6 to 5, on increased volume, on the New York Stock Exchange.

The US dollar rose across-the-board Tuesday, reversing early losses after a report showed U.S. factory activity improved to an 11-month high in April, easing some concerns over the fragile U.S. economic expansion.

Crude-oil futures fell Tuesday, extending their prior-day decline ahead of the release of weekly data on supplies Wednesday that is expected to show a modest build in crude stocks. However news that Venezuela's government took over the country's last privately run oil fields provided some support.

Copper futures climbed to their highest level in a week as a labor strike in Peru continued to threaten metals production.

Gold futures closed Tuesday with a loss of more than $6 an ounce, with some strength in the U.S. dollar and weakness in oil prices easing investment demand for the precious metal.

AUSTINDO COMPLETES SECOND TRANCHE OF PLACEMENT

On 9 March 2007 Austindo Resources Corporation NL ("ARX" or the "Company") announced that Austock Corporate Finance Limited had undertaken a placement of 344 million ordinary fully paid shares in the Company at 1.5 cents per share to raise A$5.16 million ("Placement") as interim funding for the continued development of the Cibaliung Gold Project in Indonesia.

The Company is pleased to announce that, following shareholder approval at a General Meeting held on Friday 27 April 2007, Tranche 2 of the Placement raising A$2.3 million has been completed. Tranche 2 was comprised of 150,922,686 shares.

The placement was made to a range of institutional and sophisticated investors and a Director of the Company pursuant to Section 708 of the Corporations Act 2001. All of the shares issued under the placement will rank pari passu with existing ordinary shares.

In accordance with Section 708A (5)(e) of the Act, the Company gives notice that:

The Company has issued these shares without disclosure to the placees under Part 6D.2 of the Act;
As at the date of this notice, the Company has complied with:
- the provisions of Chapter 2M of the Act as they apply to the Company;
- Section 674 of the Act
As at the date of this notice there is no excluded information (as defined in Section 708A (7) of the Act) which is required to be disclosed by the Company.

HIGHLIGHTS

MAJOR POINTS

Cibaliung Gold Project - Indonesia

Construction of the gold processing plant by PT Petrosea Tbk was approximately 80% complete by the end of the quarter. At the request of the Company, Petrosea demobilised from site during the quarter pending finalisation of additional financial facilities to complete the development of the project. Work will recommence following the confirmation of finance facilities;
The Decline Development Contract was terminated at the initiative of the Company. The decline contractor extracted the Roadheader and demobilised from site at its own cost. The original decline was closed and will not be utilised in the new mining plan currently being finalised by the Company;
Drill and Blast testing was undertaken to verify the suitability of this methodology for the development of a decline in the ground conditions typically encountered at Cibaliung. The Drill and Blast test work was successful and decline development was undertaken during the quarter by the Company’s trained mining staff;
Major works on site were placed on hold in order to conserve cash while both funding arrangements and the new mining plan were advanced. The preparation of a new mining plan was commenced to reflect the development of a new decline by drill and blast and the completion of the project development;
The new mining plan has identified further increases in capital expenditure and increases in the life of mine operating costs. Details of these increases will be released once a revised Base Case Financial Model has been finalised.
The Company agreed non-binding indicative terms and conditions in respect of a Convertible Note Facility to raise US$20 million (with provision for oversubscriptions up to a further US$5 million). The Company also announced that it had successfully undertaken a placement of 344 million ordinary fully paid shares in the Company at 1.5 cents per share to raise A$5.16 million.

Project Generation - Indonesia

Surface work, mapping and prospecting continued at both the Trenggalek and Pekalongan projects during the quarter;
A 4000 m drilling program testing for porphyry targets was completed at the Aisasjur Project in Papua in which ARX holds a 20% joint venture interest. Anglo is currently evaluating the results with the view of planning a more extensive follow-up drilling program.

Expenditure

Total exploration and development expenditure in Indonesia during the quarter amounted to A$13 million.

BEACONSFIELD GOLD NL 2007 SHARE PURCHASE PLAN

Beaconsfield Gold (ASX: BCD) announces that it is inviting all shareholders registered on 3 May 2007 to participate in the Beaconsfield Gold NL 2007 Share Purchase Plan ("SPP").

The SPP entitles shareholders to purchase $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, $4,000 or $5,000 worth of shares at a discount to market with no associated brokerage costs.

The SPP offer price of 34 cents per share represents an 8.9% discount to the volume weighted average price for Beaconsfield Gold shares on the ASX over the previous 5 trading days of 37.31 cents. It is also the price of the last share placement by the Company of 14.25 million shares to sophisticated and professional investors which was finalised on 2 April 2007.

Chief Executive Officer Mr Bill Colvin said: "Many of our shareholders who do not meet the official definition of a sophisticated or professional investor have been disappointed that they have not been able to participate in the various share placements since June last year. The SPP now allows all shareholders to take up new shares if they wish and increase their shareholding at an attractive price."

Mining activities undertaken included advancing the main decline to access deeper reserves and the development of the 1090m level.
A staged recommencement of ore production is planned; firstly ore development (sill driving), then ore production (stoping) in the eastern domain of the mine and finally ore production in the western domain.
The Case for Safety for ore development was accepted by the Chief Inspector of Mines near the end of the quarter. Ore development has now recommenced providing ore feed for the processing plant and production of gold bullion resumed late in April.
The Case for Safety for Eastern Ore Production is complete and under peer review before being submitted to the Chief Inspector of Mines for his review.
Work is well advanced on the Case for Safety for Western Ore Production, being the final requirement for full production to resume throughout the Beaconsfield Mine.
A number of compelling drilling targets have been identified close to the mine and an aggressive strategy to test them, both from surface and underground, is being developed.
Further payments received from the Federal Government funding grant of $4.9 million.
The Director of Public Prosecutions advised that there was insufficient evidence to support a prosecution on any charge over the Anzac Day incident at this time.

Beaconsfield Gold expected to achieve 91% shareholding interest in the Beaconsfield Gold Mine following 30 April 2007 Allstate shareholders' meeting.

WALL STREET

Wall Street retreated Monday as investors, casting a wary eye toward upcoming economic data, cashed in some profits on the last trading day of April -- the Dow Jones industrial average's best month in more than three years.

The Dow surged 5.7 percent in April, the biggest percentage gain since December 2003, thanks in large part to first-quarter earnings that were stronger than analysts predicted.

Economic data on Monday was mixed. Investors were pleased by the Commerce Department's report that core inflation, as measured by personal consumption spending, was up 2.1 percent for the past 12 months ending in March -- lower than the 2.4 percent rise in the 12 months ending in February. If inflation eases, the Federal Reserve is more likely to cut interest rates.

But the data also showed personal spending increased only 0.3 percent. That, along with a slim gain in construction spending and the weak reading on Midwest manufacturing, caused some restraint among investors who are concerned about the economy slowing too quickly -- which could eventually hurt corporate profits.

Declining issues outnumbered advancers by nearly 3 to 1, on increased volume, on the New York Stock Exchange.

The US dollar recovered slightly from Friday's decline, but still hovered around an all-time low against the euro.

Copper futures were a standout among the metals Monday, as news of a strike among Peru's labor unions helped raised concerns about production, prompting prices to tally a gain of more than 13% for the month.

Gold ended lower by afternoon in New York on Monday, tracking weaker oil prices.
