CAPITAL RAISING TO FUND DRILLING OF
BROKEN HILL FALCON^TM TARGETS

We wish to announce that the company has agreed to make a placement of 2,580,000 shares and 2,580,000 options, subject to appropriate shareholder approval. Wilson HTM Limited has acted as placement agent to the issue. The issue price for each share and attaching option is $0.23. The options are exercisable at $0.30 anytime before 1 September 2006.

Funds being raised from the issue will be used for general working capital purposes and, in particular, to fund a drilling program on identified drill targets in the Broken Hill district. The flying phase of the Falcon^TM system project at Broken Hill was completed during February. The survey covered approximately 1,180 square kilometres broadly centred on the Broken Hill line of lode. The main part of the survey was initiated and largely sponsored by the CRC for Predictive Mineral Discovery in association with the NSW Department of Mineral Resources and Geoscience Australia. In addition, the Sipa-Golden Cross Joint Venture and Gravity itself wholly funded additional flying to the east of the main area covered.

ALBERTON SCOUT HOLE
PEL 158, ONSHORE GIPPSLAND BASIN, VICTORIA

Lakes Oil N.L. (“LKO”) wishes to announced that the Alberton Scout hole located southwest of Alberton has been completed.

The hole encountered “black” sands over an interval of 126 metres from 81 metres to total depth of 207 metres.

Many State Electricity Commission of Victoria (“ SECV”) bores drilled in the Alberton and Port Albert area in the 1980’s encountered these sands which were described by some SECV geologists in their report as “tar sands”. Old records indicate that they were also encountered by Woodside (Lakes Entrance) Oil Company N.L. in Wells on Sunday Island to the south, and around Woodside to the north east.

Cores of these sands were cut and will be analysed. It is expected that the results will confirm the presence of oil residual in this “scout hole”. If this is so, the results indicate that a large charge of oil has reached the shore in the Alberton area from the offshore hydrocarbon generating kitchens.

The task for Lakes Oil is to find areas which may be protected from fresh water flushing and may host intact oil pools....... For details....... COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENT

MINOTAUR RESOURCES

MINOTAUR TO ACQUIRE 100% OF THE MT WOODS JOINT VENTURE AND INTRODUCE OXIANA AS A NEW PARTNER

OVERVIEW

Minotaur Resources Limited ("Minotaur") has today reached agreement for its wholly owned subsidiary Minex (SA) Pty Ltd to:

acquire BHP Billiton's 51% interest in the Mt Woods Joint Venture ("MWJV") for A$8 million in cash, payable in two instalments;
acquire the MWJV interests held by Newmont (23.94%), Sons of Gwalia (3.78%) and Sabatica (2.28%) for A$4 million, the consideration being Minotaur shares;
introduce Oxiana Limited ("Oxiana") to the project through staged farm-in arrangements totalling up to A$34 million and earning it an interest of up to 65%;
undertake a 1 for 4 renounceable rights issue at A$0.60 per share raising approximately A$3.8 million (pre the exercise of the current listed options), fully underwritten by Taylor Collison Limited.

The transactions will see:

the combination of Minotaur's exploration expertise with Oxiana's project development skills, as demonstrated at its Sepon (Copper/Gold) project in Laos;
Newmont become Minotaur's major shareholder, with a 13.9% interest in Minotaur's undiluted share capital, demonstrating its confidence in the Prominent Hill project and the Minotaur management team;
the retention of the relationship with BHP Billiton, which proved so beneficial in discovering the Prominent Hill project, through the ongoing operation of the existing exclusive exploration alliance; and
Oxiana taking on the responsibility (subject to various Oxiana earn-in conditions) to fund the development of Prominent Hill through to the commencement of construction, with Minotaur retaining a 35% interest in the project.

This is a major step forward for the Company, involving the introduction of a new partner with the project development skills and financial commitment and resources to develop the Prominent Hill project to its full potential.

QUEENSLAND GAS

QGC options exercised

QGC has today raised $700,000 through the issue of 3.5 million ordinary shares upon the exercise of options issued in August 2000. The shares were issued at 20 cents each, with the funds to be applied by the Company to continue exploration and appraisal of its coalbed methane resource in the Surat Basin.

The Founder Options exercised today were issued to the founding members of Queensland Gas Company in August 2000. QGC’s Chairman, Mr Bob Bryan has exercised two million options, while co-founders Mr D Groves and Mr R Bell have elected to take up one million and 500,000 shares respectively.

FINALISATION OF PAYMENT TO SONS OF GWALIA LTD AND SHARE PLACEMENT

The Directors of BeMaX Resources NL (ASX: BMX) are pleased to announce that a payment of $2,282,450 has been made to Sons of Gwalia Limited (SGW) under the Sale and Purchase Agreement dated 27 November 2002 through which BeMaX acquired SGW's 25% interest in the Pooncarie Mineral Sands Project. This amount represents the balance of the consideration due to SGW under the agreement.

The payment to SGW was funded by a placement of shares to several Australian Institutions and a sophisticated investor. A total of 16,428,571 ordinary shares were issued at a price of 14.0 cents per share.

This placement demonstrates the high level of confidence held by professional investors in the ability of BeMaX to successfully develop the Pooncarie Project. This confidence was highlighted by the offer of financial support by The National Titanium Dioxide Co Ltd (CRISTAL) announced by BeMaX on 25 June 2003. On 19 August 2003, it was announced that the conditions precedent in the CRISTAL Agreement had been met or waived and approval of the terms of the CRISTAL offer will be sought from shareholders at an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders to be held on 18 September 2003....... Austindo Resources confirms Underwriting of Share Purchase Plan
and
Capital Raising Strategy to fund Cibaliung Gold Project
Bankable Feasibility Study

Following the Company’s recent announcement of a Shareholder Share Purchase Plan, the Company is now pleased to confirm that Austock Brokers Pty Ltd and Taylor Collison Limited have together confirmed their commitment to underwrite $1.6 million of the Company’s Share Purchase Plan.

Combined with the placement of $1.7 million to the Company’s major shareholders announced on 13 August 2003, the Company now expects to raise a total of $3.3 million in this capital raising process.

The Company completed a preliminary feasibility study of its 75% owned Cibaliung Gold Project in Banten Province, Indonesia earlier in the year based on a resource of 610,200 equivalent gold ounces.

Key findings of the preliminary feasibility study were:

Mine life of 6 years with a increased production rate of 220,000 tonnes per annum with recovery of gold and silver by a conventional gravity - CIL processing plant;
Annual production of approximately 70,000 ozs gold equivalent;
Initial capital estimate of some US$ 30 million;
Average life of mine cash operating costs of less than US$200/oz.

The Directors are pleased to announce that the Company has placed new ordinary shares to institutional and professional investors to raise $10 million. The new shares were placed at $0.75 each. Coolgardie Gold Project Update

The original Coolgardie Life of Mine (LOM) plan envisaged the mining of ore from 3 sources – Empress underground, Lindsays open pit and Greenfields open pit, as well as toll treating of ore for Mines & Resources of Australia.

Due to the possible inability of MRA to deliver ore for toll milling after September 2003 (as announced by Herald on 12 May 2003) the JV has been required to bring forward the scheduled mining of the Greenfields deposit, originally planned for later in the LOM schedule.

The mining of the Greenfields deposit in the original LOM plan required significant cutbacks (with attendant costs) to access the ore. In order to reduce capital outlays, Manager MPI Mines is considering a more modest cutback. If implemented, this will reduce the ore reserve at the Greenfields deposit from that previously published, by an amount still to be quantified.

The original financing facilities for the Project were made to Herald subsidiary Goldfan Ltd, on a non-recourse basis to parent company Herald Resources Ltd.
The under-performance of the Project to date has affected the agreed financial lending ratios, and the financier has requested that financial support to Goldfan, in the form of a parent company guarantee from Herald for approximately $3m, be made. Herald has agreed in principle to provide this guarantee, subject to sighting the formal documentation.

MPI as managers have advised that they are currently preparing a new LOM plan.
Concurrently with this exercise they are also recalculating all ore reserves at the Project, which they do as a matter of course on an annual basis. Both are expected to be completed sometime in September.

TASGOLD

Drilling Results - Lisle Project Tasmania

High-tonnage, lower-grade gold potential in altered granodiorites has been demonstrated by TasGold from assay results of its recent RC drilling at the Potoroo Prospect. Drill hole P017 intersected 106m of 0.24 g/t gold (the entire hole was mineralised > ~0.1 g/t gold), including a peak of 1m of 2.60g/t gold. Other holes returned encouraging mineralisation, such as P018, with 26m of 0.57 g/t gold (hole was terminated prior to target depth due to adverse drilling conditions, but was entirely mineralised with gold grades increasing with depth to the end of hole at 0.71 g/t gold).

The target model for Potoroo is the Fort Knox Mine (with >5.0 M oz of gold within >169 million tonnes grading 0.93g/t gold) and exploration to date has confirmed many geochemical and geological similarities.

Drilling at Potoroo (which is a small Wallaby like marsupial) last year targeted higher-grade quartz veining and returned intersections at / very near surface such as 1m of 6.42 g/t gold (including a grab sample of quartz vein with 86 g/t gold), 2m of 4.51 g/t gold and 2m of 4.25 g/t gold with some intercepts within broad lower-grade gold mineralised zones such as 20m of 0.62 g/t gold and 30m of 0.30 g/t gold. This prospect was never discovered by historic prospectors / miners and was located by TasGold management from regional reconnaissance type soil sampling.

SHAREHOLDER SHARE PURCHASE PLAN

The Board of Directors of Austindo Resources Corporation NL is pleased to advise you of the opportunity to participate in its SPP. This letter sets out the terms and conditions of the offer under the SPP.

On 13 August, the Company announced that it had resolved to raise $1.7 million through the placement of 52.5 million shares at 3.2 cents. At that time, the Company indicated that it would also proceed with a SPP to provide eligible shareholders with the opportunity to participate in a further capital raising.

The SPP entitles shareholders in the Company, irrespective of the size of their shareholding, to purchase up to $5,000 worth of shares in the Company (the “Offer”). No brokerage, commission or stamp duty will apply to shareholders taking up shares under the SPP.

On 27 May 2003 the Company confirmed that it had decided to proceed with a Bankable Feasibility Study (“BFS”) on its 75% owned Cibaliung Project in Banten Province, Indonesia. The funds to be raised pursuant to this SPP are to be used to finalise the BFS and meet the Company’s working capital requirements at Cibaliung while project funding is put in place. In addition a portion of the funds will be applied to advance the Company’s interests in Victoria.

Eligible Members that wish to participate in the SPP must complete and lodge an application form together with payment for the shares they wish to subscribe for, with the Company’s share registry by Wednesday 17 September 2003. By forwarding your Application Form and cheque you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the SPP.

All shares issued under the SPP will rank equally with the existing fully paid ordinary shares of the Company and will carry the same voting rights, dividend rights and other entitlements. The Company will seek quotation of the shares issued pursuant to the SPP on the Australian Stock Exchange (“ASX”) as soon as possible or in any event, within 10 business days after allotment.

Base and Precious Metals Prospect – Botswana, Africa

This is to inform you that the Company has been awarded Prospecting Licence 69/2003 (“PL 69/2003”) for base and precious metals. PL 69/2003 is located in the northwest of Botswana, on the border with Namibia and is contiguous with Exclusive Prospecting Licences 2818 and 3022, held by the Company in Namibia which are currently being explored for diamonds and basemetals. PL 69/2003 covers an area of 1,000 km²..

Previous exploration within PL 69/2003, which included soil geochemical sampling, trenching, orientation gravity/resistivity surveys and percussion drilling, was carried out by Billiton Botswana (Pty) Ltd (Billiton) during the period 1981 to 1982. Out of 20 holes drilled by Billiton, 13 returned values for Zn and/or Pb above a cut off value of 1%.

Billiton reported: (Aha Hills PL 39/80 – Final Report, July 1983) “The drillhole with the most promising mineralisation (AP 11) was stopped while still in high-grade mineralisation. There is an extensive on-strike geochemical anomaly and an intersection of oxidised mineralised sandstone occurring two kilometres away at the same horizon suggests there is potential for a large Zn – Pb deposit”...... Gunbarrel Gold	On 15 August Cullen commenced a five hole RC drilling programme (to depths of ~230m) at the Southern Prospect with assay results expected in early September. In addition, a RAB/Aircore programme (~8000m in two phases) will commence this week to test a number of priority gold targets;
Gunbarrel Nickel	Joint Venture Manager, WMC Resources Limited, has positioned a diamond drill rig to begin deep tests of two nickel sulphide targets at “AK47” and “303”;
Ashburton Gold	Joint Venture Manager, Barrick Gold Australia Ltd, plans to start Aircore/RC drilling at the Wyloo Project in late September;
Wonganoo Gold/Nickel	Data compilation has identified a number of high priority targets for gold and nickel sulphides in the southern prospect area (see Figure). First pass RAB/Aircore drilling is planned in September.

DRILLING COMMENCES IN ACCELERATED EXPLORATION PROGRAMME

Giants Reef Mining Limited (the Company) has a dominant ground position in the proven Tennant Creek Goldfield which, since its discovery in 1935, has produced in excess of 5 million oz of gold and over 345,000 tonnes of copper. The field is characterised by high-grade deposits associated with iron-rich lodes within Proterozoic sediments.

A detailed strategic review of the Normandy & Peko Wallsend database that flowed from the 2001 acquisition of Normandy Tennant Creek (NTC) has highlighted significant exploration potential with numerous drill intersections of encouraging grades that require follow up. Our own gravity surveying in January this year has highlighted the potential use of this technique in identifying blind, hematite-rich ore bodies.

The commissioning of the 100% owned Chariot Gold Project containing some 430,000 tonnes grading 14.9 g/t Au is due in less than 8 weeks in early October 2003. This mine will provide a strong cash flow to the Company over a current 4 year mine life.

The Company having reviewed the scope of the opportunities has elected to take steps to accelerate the exploration in the Tennant Creek Goldfield over the coming 12 months.

Weak thermal market and rising $A delay Monto Coal project

Macarthur Coal Limited (ASX: MCC, MCCG) advises that the Monto Coal Joint Venture, in which the company holds a 51% interest, has decided to suspend development work on the Monto Coal Project.

The Monto Coal project, located south-west of Gladstone, was to be initially developed as a 1 million to 1.5 million tonne per annum (tpa) coal operation producing low nitrogen thermal coal.

Total project expenditure to date is A$12 million which includes a partial upgrading of the Monto rail line and land purchases. Additionally, Macarthur Coal has made an equity payment of A$10 million to acquire its 51% interest in the project.

Macarthur Coal's Managing Director and CEO Mr Ken Talbot said, "Very weak export market conditions for thermal coals, coupled with a rising Australian dollar, mean that the development and timing of Monto needs to be reviewed.

NEW GUINEA GOLD’S JV PARTNER TO RAISE FUNDS FOR FENI EXPLORATION

Vancouver – August 15, 2003 The Company’s Feni Island Joint Venture Partner, Paccom Ventures Inc (“Paccom”), announced today that it has negotiated a brokered private placement financing of up to $1,000,000. The private placement is subject to regulatory approval.

Proceeds from this placement will be used to fund a diamond drilling program at The Feni Project, New Ireland Province, Papua New Guinea. Feni Island is located southeast of and along trend from the Lihir Gold Mine that contains an estimated gold resource of over 40 million ounces of gold at a grade of nearly 3g/t Au. Like Lihir, Feni Island is a stratovolcano formed as the result of subduction of the earths crust. Feni Island exhibits strikingly similar geology, including widespread gold mineralisation, similar alteration styles and similar alkaline intrusives to the Lihir Mine. 84,000 ozs GOLD EQUIVALENT INFERRED MINERAL RESOURCE AT
SEHULEA, WEIOKO PROJECT

Vancouver - August 13th 2003 An inferred mineral resource (in accordance with the Aust I.M.M JORC code) has been calculated for the Weioko Project, Sehulea tenement, Papua New Guinea. This inferred mineral resource is 1.7million tonnes at 1.36g/t gold and 12.3g/t silver with contained gold and silver of 75,000 and 676,000 ozs respectively. This equates to a gold equivalent grade of 1.54g/t gold and contained gold equivalent (assuming 70 ozs silver equals one oz of gold) of 84,000 ozs.

Austindo Resources to raise up to $1.7 million by placement
and
offer Share Purchase Plan to existing shareholders

Austindo Resources Corporation NL (“ARX”) has resolved to proceed with a placement of up to 52.5 million shares at 3.2 cents per share to raise additional working capital of $1.7 million which will fund the Company through and beyond the completion of its Bankable Feasibility Study (“BFS”) in respect of its 75% owned Cibaliung Gold Project in Banten Province, Indonesia.

The Board is also pleased to confirm that it has resolved to offer shareholders as at 20 August 2003 the opportunity to participate in a Share Purchase Plan. Details of the Share Purchase Plan will be confirmed on or before 20 August 2003.

The placement will be made to the Company’s major shareholder and interests associated with some of the directors of the Company and accordingly, will be subject to shareholder approval.

GATEWAY MINING

Gateway Mining NL (ASX: GML) announces further exploration drilling results from its Gidgee Gold Project

The company has recently completed a further 4,425 metres of rotary airblast drilling (RAB) at Gidgee. Drilling was conducted at the Montague and Barrelmaker areas located on the eastern and western side of the Gum Creek Greenstone Belt respectively.

At Montague drilling tested shallow targets within 50 metres of the surface on the Airport gold trend, the regional shear that hosts the Hypotenuse gold-arsenic anomaly and the Victory Creek prospect. At Barrelmaker several regional targets were also tested.

Of significance is hole GRB 1778 that returned 5 metres @ 6.86 g/t gold which is down dip of the previous discovery hole of 10 metres @ 10.48 g/t gold from 5 metres depth at the S Bend prospect.

The S Bend prospect is located 500 metres north from Rosie North on the Airport trend. Drilling at Rosie North has confirmed a 100 metre long NNW trending gold mineralised zone that is open to the north and at depth and has previously reported grades of up to 28 g/t gold.

At Victory Creek and Hypotenuse drilling has expanded the potential of known mineralised zones.

PRESS RELEASE -COMPANY ACTIVITIES FOR YEAR ENDED 30 APRIL 2003

Corporate Activities

The Directors continue to investigate a number of opportunities in the biotechnology field for possible acquisition by the Company. In anticipation of finding a suitable biotechnology project for the Company (arms-length from Genetic Technologies Limited, the Company’s parent), the Company has included as an item of special business at its Annual and Special Meeting to be held on September 12, 2003 an ordinary resolution authorizing the directors to acquire business opportunity during the ensuing twelve months which may result in a “change of business”.

Exploration Projects

The Company’s Revenue Creek property in the Yukon was sold to ATAC Resources Limited in the last financial year. The Company retains a 2% NSR from which ATAC Resources Limited can purchase 1% for $300,000 and another 0.5% for $300,000 which would leave the Company with a balance of 0.05% NSR.

The Company still retains a 1.5% NSR on the Aurex Property in the Yukon which has been acquired pursuant to an option agreement by Expatriate Resources Limited. Expatriate Resources Limited may purchase this NSR at any time for $1,000,000. The Aurex property is now controlled by StrataGold Corporation and the royalty interest has been assigned from Expatriate Resources Limited to StrataGold Corporation.

HIGHLIGHTS

During the Quarter, the Company achieved Financial Completion with the Australian and New Zealand Banking Group Limited enabling access to a $16.25 million project debt facility. Access to this facility allowed development of the Chariot Gold Project to immediately commence.
The Company implemented its hedge program during the Quarter. The hedge program is over 75% of reserves and comprises 70,585 ounces of gold sold forward at a fixed price of A$595 per ounce up to June 2005 and (beyond June 2005) a further 79,415 ounces subject to fixed convertible forwards with a minimum floor price of A$584 per ounce. There are a further 50,000 ounces of reserves that remain unhedged for delivery into the spot market.
Material contracts for underground development and mining and management of the Warrego processing plant refurbishment program were awarded to Barminco Pty Ltd and Holtfreters Pty Ltd respectively. A shaft sinking contract was awarded to Craigs Mining Services for development of the vent rise and separate alternative egress (escape way).
Both the Chariot underground development and Warrego refurbishment program are currently on schedule and within cost forecasts. Gold production is anticipated to commence in October 2003.
The Chariot Portal access open cut was completed in early April producing 19,200 tonnes of ore at an estimated grade of 10.4 g/t Au (at a 130 g/t Au top-cut). This compares to the original reserve of 26,714 tonnes at 6.6 g/t Au (at a 130 g/t Au top-cut) containing 5,476 ounces of gold. An additional 306 ounces of gold is contained in low grade material. Including the low grade material, this represents a 23% increase in contained gold compared to the reserve. This is significant in the context of the overcall extending into underground ore production.
Mr Joe Ariti was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Company on 3 June 2003.
A major RC drilling program is planned to comprehensively test a series of high amplitude gravity anomalies defined by recent gravity surveys within the emerging Chariot mineralised corridor. All statutory and Traditional owner approvals have been met and the Company has selected a drilling contractor. Drilling is scheduled to commence early in the September Quarter.
The fully drawn BankWest facility of A$3.5 million was re-paid following Financial Completion.
Presentations were made to financial institutions in the United Kingdom, USA and Canada to improve international awareness of the Company's unique position in the Tennant Creek Goldfield.

MACARTHUR COAL

Macarthur Coal to increase interests in the Coppabella and Moorvale Joint Ventures

Macarthur Coal Limited (ASX: MCC, MCCG) has entered into an agreement with AMCI Australia Pty Ltd and related companies ("AMCI") to acquire all its interests in the Coppabella (30%) and Moorvale (13.8%) joint ventures, subject to the exercise of pre-emptive rights.

The purchase price for AMCI's interests is estimated to be $72.9 million, subject to final adjustments upon release of the audited accounts of the Coppabella and Moorvale joint ventures for the financial year ended 30 June 2003 and adjustment for closure of currency hedging at settlement date. A portion of the assets will be purchased progressively over a 10 year period for a sum of $20 million plus interest at 6% per annum. The agreement provides for Macarthur Coal to take over AMCI's share of net debt currently estimated to be $10.9 million, as part of the above purchase price. ......For details........... MOUNT BURGESS MINING

PLACEMENT

On 31 July 2003, Mount Burgess Mining N.L. completed a placement of 5,000,000 fully paid ordinary shares to raise $400,000. The placement was at an issue price of $0.08 per share. A placement fee of 2% will be paid on the issue.

QUEENSLAND GAS

PAYMENT TO CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER IN RECOGNITION OF PERFORMANCE

Queensland Gas Company Limited has today agreed to make a payment to the Company’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr Richard Cottee, in recognition of his performance as Managing Director since commencing in that role on 4 October 2002.

On the appointment of Mr Cottee the Company’s mandate to him was to convert the Company from an explorer to a producer. The Company will make the payment in recognition of the following achievements in particular in achieving the mandate:

achieving execution of the Company’s 60-90PJ Gas Supply Agreement with CS Energy in December 2002;
resolving and settling the dispute between the Company, Icon Energy Ltd and Pangaea Oil & Gas Pty Ltd over ATPs 610P, 620P and 648P – resolution of this matter has made one of the Company’s best development prospectus, the Argyle prospect within ATP 620P, again available for development;
achieving execution of the Company’s 50/50 joint venture with CS Energy in respect of the Berwyndale South Project in June 2003 effectively securing funding for the remainder of the reserves certification program and subsequent development of that field;
achieving the Memorandum of Agreement with BHP Billiton and CS Energy in July 2003 for renegotiation of the CS Energy Gas Agreement and for negotiation of joint ventures with BHP Billiton in respect of ATP 632P, ATP 620P and ATP 648P, signalling an exciting new development phase for the Company, drawing strength from BHP Billiton’s enormous experience and CS Energy’s position as Queensland’s largest gas consumer; and
achieving execution of the Company’s $8.0 million Standby Equity Line of Credit Agreement with Cornell Capital Partners in July 2003, giving the Company the financial strength to achieve the commercialisation of its vast resources.
