The Murray Basin straddles the south-western section of New South Wales, the north-western section of Victoria and the south-eastern portion of South Australia. More than half of the 300,000 km2 Murray Basin is now taken up with exploration for heavy minerals.

RZM Pty Ltd/Aberfoyle have proven a high-grade rutile and zircon reserve at Wemen and is proceeding with development in late 1998.

RGC is at an advanced stage of feasibility with its deposit near Ouyen.

Gawler Gold & Mineral Exploration N.L.

Gawler Gold & Mineral Exploration have an 9.7% equity in Bemax Resources(see map).


Golden Triangle Resources

Recently completed an AC drilling program over a potential new western target zone and the main Woolshed mineral sand resource.


Imperial Mining

Imperial has a 25% equity in a JV with peregrine Mineral Sands NL - a Bemax Resources subsidiary.


Platsearch

Platsearch has a JV agreement with Westralian Sands whereby WS can earn an 80% interest over 900 sq.km of tenements south of Broken Hill - on the north-western edge of theMurray Basin.


Redfire Resources

Redfire has applied for 3 EL's covering about 6,000 sq.km near Ivanhoe in NSW - in the north-eastern section of the Murray basin, and 2 EL's in SA - covering the north-western and south-western margins of the basin.

Redfire has recently entered a JV with a private company over a 56 sq km area near Lameroo, SA. The area is 8km west of the recent RGC heavy mineral discovery at the Matilda prospect. Redfire said interpretation of satellite imagery and coloured air-photos indicated a series of strand lines crossing the tenement.


Resource Development Corp

Resource Development Corp entered into an agreement with Steiner Holdings (see map) to acquire a 1005 interest in the murray basin tenements, covering an area of about 20,000 sq.km. The company proposes to raise $10 million through the issue of 50 million shares and then the company name will be changed to Murray Basin Minerals NL.
